One Two Three: Jessica Hibbard Elenstar
Jessica Hibbard Elenstar of Analog Adventures is one of my instant photography heroes. Her Impossible photos (colour and monochrome) over the last year have me drooling. Here’s Jess’ One Two Three…
THE CAMERA
“I splurged on a used Fuji Natura Classica a few months ago, and haven’t regretted it. I almost always have this tiny wonder in my bag or pocket. Though I typically self-identify as an instant shooter, I’ve found that the ease and (relative) affordability of using a 35mm point-and-shoot has helped me stay in shape, photographically-speaking.
If this hypothetical photo wander is in the winter or if I’ll be shooting indoors, I’d load up with Kodak Portra 800 or Fuji Superia 1600. On a sunny summer day, I’d shoot something a bit slower, like Kodak Ektar 100 or Fuji Reala 100.”
THE PHOTOGRAPHS

“It’s horribly cliche, but I love photographing gardens and flowers. Shooting with different cameras and films keeps it interesting. (For me, anyway.) Gray-headed coneflowers in my backyard, photographed with an Olympus OM-1n on Kodak Gold 200 film (2009).”

“Spring flowers in Madison Square Park, photographed with a Polaroid SX-70 on The Impossible Project’s new PX680ff film (2011).”
THREE WORDS
“Light. Color. Texture. (The holy trinity of visual delight that’s most likely to stop me in my tracks when I’m out photo-hunting.)”
